1. Parent Visit
Parents are invited to tour Chapin, explore the school's academic and extracurricular programs as well as discuss their child's needs. Please make an appointment with the Admission Office to do this.
2. Application
A completed application form and a $40.00 application fee is required before a student can be scheduled for a visit. The application can be downloaded, printed and mailed to the school. Students entering Grades 6-8 may apply online at www.ssat.org.
Although there is no official deadline for applications, admission decisions are mailed in mid-March. To secure placement, parents are advised to apply by mid-February. Applications received after February are reviewed for spaces available.
3. Recommendation Form
This form must be completed by the applicant's current teacher and sent directly to Chapin by the teacher.
4. Student Visit and Testing
Please call the Admission Office at 609-986-1702 to schedule visits or register for specific test dates.
Applying for Grades 6 through 8: The Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) is required.
Transcripts
A letter from our Admission Office will be sent to the applicant's present school requesting transcripts. Recommendation forms, available from Chapin, are to be filled out by the applicant's present teacher. Parents are responsible for giving these forms to current teachers. Transcripts and recommendations are returned directly to Chapin from the present school.
Notification
Applicants will be notified of final decisions.
