Welcome to
Chapin
Chapin welcomes inquiries and family visits by appointment
throughout the year. We also schedule a number of Open
Houses throughout the year to allow families to experience
Chapin firsthand.
Chapin accepts
students for admission at all grade levels, from
Pre-Kindergarten (age 4 by September 1st of the year of
admission) to Grade 8, as space allows. We wish to enroll
students who exhibit an eagerness for learning. Accordingly,
our admission process concentrates on examining each child's
potential to contribute to and benefit from participating in
the Chapin community.
Most families begin
the admission process with a telephone call to schedule a
campus tour and a conversation with our admission staff. As
a next step, parents then submit an application form
accompanied by a nominal application fee. Once formal
application has been made, we request school records and
recommendations from the student's present school and make
arrangements for an in-depth parent interview with our
Director of Admissions, Mrs. Barbara Pasteris.
Limited financial
aid is available and is distributed on the basis of
demonstrated financial need. Admission decisions are not
influenced by financial aid applications.
