An outstanding academic program, caring faculty, small classes and a warm sense of community characterize a Chapin education. The Annual Fund is a crucial part of providing the financial support beyond tuition necessary to build and sustain the school’s exciting programs.
Chapin School, like all independent schools, stands financially on its own. Tuition covers about 85 percent of the cost of educating each student, with the remainder made up by endowment income, other revenue and fundraising.
The Annual Fund is Chapin School’s fundraising priority. Each year, these generous, tax-deductible contributions provide unrestricted funds to the school for use where they are needed most. Gifts impact each child in the school, as well as the faculty and academic programs.
The generosity of parents, alumni, trustees, past parents, grandparents and other friends of the school have enabled Chapin to thrive. Gifts to the Annual Fund help the school to maintain small classes and personal attention; attract and retain the finest teachers; keep tuition affordable for a diverse group of families; and support outstanding athletic and extracurricular programs.
Every gift to the Annual Fund is important. Outside funders, such as foundations and corporations, look at parent participation when making decisions about their donations. Leadership gifts are particularly meaningful, providing an opportunity to make a major contribution to the school’s strength.
