We are thrilled that you are considering a Chapin education for your child. Chapin School welcomes students who are curious, engaged learners whose families value our belief that lifelong habits of mind and heart are formed in the elementary and middle school years. As our mission states, Chapin provides a richly textured education that inspires academic achievement and builds strength of character.
For eighty-six years, Chapin School has provided an educational environment that supports inquisitive learning, builds confidence and leadership, and encourages students to explore and blossom through a wide variety of curricular and co-curricular experiences. At Chapin, all of our efforts and resources are dedicated to early childhood, elementary and middle school learning experiences that are the foundation of future success. We believe this focused approach gives our students advantages by providing more leadership opportunities in developmentally appropriate ways, inspiring them to take academic risks, and develop their sense of community. The Chapin “C’s” become an intrinsic part of each Chapin student through a continual focus on Character, Curriculum and Community.
We enroll students, from age four to grade eight who exhibit an eagerness for learning. We believe in an admission process that emphasizes each child's potential to contribute and benefit from the Chapin community. I encourage you to take time to learn more about Chapin's five virtues, small classes, dedicated faculty, and inquiry-based learning through STEAM.
