Family Groups at Chapin School Princeton

How much does private school cost?
At Chapin, it is one of our goals to help students build character and community. One way in which we do this is through our family groups. We have 20 family groups and every member of the school community, including administrators, buildings and grounds team, and business office is part of a family group.

Is Print Dead?

Not at Chapin!

Private School Princeton Newspaper

Who says print is dead? Not at Chapin! The Chapin Gazette is a student created, written, produced, and published newspaper that made its inaugural run this week. While a lot of work was done during the new Discovery period, much of it had to be done on the students' own time. This takes much responsibility and perseverance!

Outdoor Education Shines at Chapin School Princeton

Private School Princeton Student do outdoor education
Study after study shows us that children need to spend more time outside, and not just for "downtime"
"Learning outdoors supports child development. Children greatly benefit developmentally from being outdoors. Outdoor education and play support emotional, behavioral and intellectual development. Studies have shown that students who learn outdoors develop: a sense of self, independence, confidence, creativity, decision-making and problem-solving skills, empathy towards others, motor skills, self-discipline, and initiative. Teaching and learning outdoors is fun. Often, the outdoors provides a change of pace from the classroom, which students and teachers enjoy. Studies have shown increased student enthusiasm for learning outdoors." (Summaries of Outdoor Education Research)
Chapin's Outdoor Education program, including our experiential learning-centered trips like Camp Mason and our two outdoor classrooms embrace all of many things that can be learned only outside. With the beautiful, warm fall we've been having, our students have loved learning outside!

Chapin vs. Wilberforce Game Report

As reported by Coach Hall

Private School Girls' Athletics
The Chapin Girls' soccer team was fired up for their home game, against Wilberforce. After a 3-2 loss to Hun last Friday, the girls were determined to put for their best effort. Chapin 8th grader Kathy C.  scored the first goal in the first five minutes of the game. Shortly thereafter, Maya A. chipped one over the goalie's head. Alexandra R., Kirsten G., Sasha M., Kai S, and many others contributed to the effort.
The team is really starting to gel and play their positions. Hopefully, this will carry over for the rest of the season!
