Current Chapin parents have been issued a password that allows them to access the intranet portion of our website. The password expires when the student is no longer enrolled.
“Cookies,” which are pieces of information that a website sends to your computer while you are viewing the site, are used by the Chapin School site to allow users to customize the calendars and content they view. Again, no personally identifiable information is exchanged.
We use your personal data to keep track of you-our alumni, parents, grandparents and other friends-for the purpose of notifying you of events and information relative to Chapin School that may be of interest to you.
We also use the information that has been gathered to tailor site content to user needs and to generate aggregate statistical addresses. Web server logs are retained on a temporary basis and then deleted completely from our system.
We may request your email address or mailing address on some of the forms contained on the site. Whenever we request the identity of a visitor, we will clearly indicate the purpose of the inquiry before the information is requested. Any personal information you share with us, including email or mailing addresses, is kept private. We maintain a strict “No-Spam” policy which means we do not sell, rent or otherwise give your email or mailing address to a third party, except service providers who assist Chapin School in communicating with you. In addition, Chapin School will not send you email that you have asked not to receive; responding to an email you’ve received from the school by addressing it to email@example.com with a request to be removed will remove you from that mailing list.
Students and Prospective Students
If you are under 13 years of age, you must have your parent or guardian register or input personally identifiable information on your behalf. Chapin School will not ask a child under age 13 for more personally identifiable information than is reasonably necessary to use within the Website.
Chapin School uses physical, electronic and procedural safeguards when sending or receiving personal or financial information over the Internet. Unfortunately, no security system, or system of transmitting data over the internet, can be guaranteed to be 100 percent secure. As a result, while we undertake commercially reasonable tools to protect your personally identifiable information, we cannot guarantee the security of our servers, the means by which information is transmitted between your computer and our servers, or any information provided to us or to any third party through or in connection with the website.
