Academic Teams
Science Olympiad is a team-based competition that allows students to explore a wide range of scientific disciplines, including biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, engineering, and environmental science. Students will prepare for competitive events through hands-on activities, research, experimentation, and problem-solving.
Math Olympiad challenges students to think creatively and strategically about mathematics. Rather than focusing solely on routine calculations, students will work on challenging problems involving logic, patterns, number theory, geometry, algebra, and mathematical reasoning. Students will develop perseverance and learn different strategies for approaching unfamiliar problems while preparing for math competitions.
Robotics gives students the opportunity to combine engineering, technology, mathematics, and creativity. Students will design, build, program, test, and improve robots while working as a team to solve real-world challenges. No matter their previous experience, students can develop valuable skills in coding, engineering design, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving.
Quiz Bowl is a fast-paced academic competition that tests students' knowledge across a broad range of subjects, including science, mathematics, history, literature, geography, current events, and the arts. Students will build their knowledge while developing quick thinking, teamwork, recall, and confidence in a competitive but supportive environment.
Academic Team Alternatives
Pottery. Students learn basic pottery techniques, work with clay, and create their own unique pieces. They have the opportunity to experiment with shapes, textures, and designs while developing patience and artistic expression.
Woodworking. Students learn the fundamentals of working with wood and using basic tools safely. They complete age-appropriate projects while building skills in measuring, designing, constructing, and problem-solving.
