We hope that you will take this opportunity to browse Chapin's Web site and catch up with your old school.  Depending on when you attended, things may look differently from what you remember, but the essence of the Chapin experience for today's students is much the same as it was for you.  Once you've had a chance to see what we're doing here on campus, please click on the Alumni Update, update your infomation if it has changed and let us know what you've been up to.

Photos for Class Notes in Chapin Today are always appreciated.  You can e-mail them directly to Sharon Gomberg.  A personal campus visit, of course, is the best way to re-connect, and you are all welcome to stop by.  How about attending one of the alumni events?  We'd love to see you!

Annual Fund Alumni FAQ

 Why is alumni giving important?
Your time at Chapin helped to provide you with a solid foundation in academics, character development and friendships. Your gift helps guarantee that young students today have the same opportunities and strong start Chain provided for you.

Why give to Chapin? My high school and college are asking, too.
Your other schools are worthy of your support as well. But as a small school, Chapin will benefit greatly from any support you can provide. You can make a real difference!

What is the difference between the Annual Fund and other giving?
All giving really helps! Specifically, contributions to the Annual Fund go immediately into the school's budget to support the ongoing operations of the school. In the Limitless Futrues Campaign, donors are supporting building projects and endowment funds. Schools run Campaigns every few years for big projects, but the Annual Fund supports yearly needs.

Who is asked for gifts?
Everyone in the school community is asked— alumni, parents of alumni, current parents, grandparents, trustees, as well as faculty and staff. Last year 100% of the faculty and staff contributed!

What is a matching gift?
Many companies will match charitable contributions by their employees. The company helps to support worthy causes and the employee can maximize the amount donated to the charity—please check with your human resources department to see if they will match your gift.

How much should I give?

What you give is entirely up to you. Every gift is important and appreciated. We hope you will join with us in contributing at whatever elvel you are capable of giving. Last year, gifts to the Annual Fund ranged from $10 to $100,000.

Parents already pay tuition, why do we need to donate money to the school?
The Annual Fund helps keep tuitions as low as possible. Like almost all independent schools, tuition does not cover the full cost of a Chapin education. This year tuition covers only 87%.

What kind of recognition do I get for giving?
Your gift will be acknowledged in the Annual Report, which is distributed each fall and lists all donors who contribute during that school year.  You can make your gift anonymously, if you prefer, by directing the Development Office not to list your name.
