This summer Chapin teachers attended conferences, took classes, created book groups, worked at camps and generally never stopped trying to gain knowledge that will help in and out of the classroom.
Some highlights of the professional development done over the summer:
A full day conference on Assessing Students and Working with Reading Strategies.
Attended the Summer DIVE 3-day event featuring two literacy education authors.
Participated in a faculty-led summer reading book club centered around a book about differentiating instruction for students.
Worked at music and dance camps.
Responsive classroom workshop.
Classes in instrument repair, folk dancing, multicultural dancing, student portfolios, and music tech programs.
And there are too many more to list! Every Chapin student benefits from the efforts of Chapin faculty to continually learn about the craft of teaching.
